We have come to know that we need to first check the abilities of God before we can place our trust on Him, this we treated in the last series. We said that trust will naturally flow when we see and know God’s ability to perform His word to us. Now to end this note let’s see the hindrance to receiving in the place of prayers.

James spoke by the Spirit of God and said to us that

James  4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

He said we ask and receive not because we ask amiss, that asking amiss is what he said next,

Now we need to understand something here that James was not against what Jesus said about asking and receiving neither was he against what John said about the confidence that we have that the Lord will grant what we ask. But he exposed to us that we need to check the ground for which we ask, we need to check our lust. He said to consume it upon our own lust, this means people may be asking from the Lord and they keep in mind their lust, this we have seen that is the major hindrance to the reason we do not receive and yet this make the word of God look like it has no power. But our lust has been what reduces the power of the word being made manifest in our prayers. We need to know that before God all thoughts and actions are weighed.

1 Samuel  2:3 Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

God is a God of knowledge, He sees the ground for which we ask, which may be to consume such request to our own lust. Every man have their own lust and please note the word EVERY MAN

James  1:14 But EVERY MAN is tempted, when he is DRAWN AWAY OF HIS OWN LUST, AND ENTICED.

We must carefully watch our own lust when praying and we must successfully trust God to help us get rid of it while we pray, for when this is done, we will have all our petitions granted. So as you request of the Lord, check out your lust to that request which you intend to consume it on? Prayerfully take them away so that the will of God can be properly granted, hence you’ll see that the Lord desire to answer all your requests. For He hasten His word to perform it, God is ALWAYS ready to perform His word to us. Thanks for reading.
