“Anything that is conceived always takes time for maturity”

May the Lord give you understanding as we look at this topic together. Alot of times people feel sin just occur like that in a single day but rather it has a process by which it uses to bring man into death. Let’s consider the case of Eve, the Bible says it was the woman that was deceived and not the man.

1 Timothy  2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but THE WOMAN BEING DECEIVED was in the transgression.

Very clearly we see that the scripture says it was the woman that was deceived and not Adam, let’s see that from the book of the beginning.

Genesis  3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

We understand from here that what the devil came to do here was to bring a question to Eve that will require her attention against what the Lord said. This is the strategy of the wicked against God’s word in our lives. To trap us with a question that will engage us in words with him and then cause us to lose focus. We saw that the woman replied him also about what the Lord has said but we later saw that the serpent added the word “Not” to what the Lord has said to Adam

Genesis  2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: FOR IN THE DAY THAT THOU EATEST THEREOF THOU SHALT SURELY DIE.

That’s what God said to Adam but see what the serpent said to Eve but before that we see that Eve did not totally convey God’s word to Serpent but she gave an half truth of what the Lord said hence making room for the devil’s lie. She said

3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, LEST YE DIE.

But God said

So here comes the opportunity to add the word “Not” to what God said

And after this, she opened her heart to see the tree

Genesis  3:6 And when the woman SAW THAT the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be DESIRED to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

She saw the tree and then lust set in. Satan has successfully drawn her away by her own lust. Now the word “Desired” there is the same word that was used for “lust” in the New Testament.

James  1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

1:14 But every man is tempted, WHEN HE IS DRAWN AWAY OF HIS OWN LUST, AND ENTICED.

Temptation comes by the attraction of our own lust, once a lust lies in the heart then there comes a room for temptation and notice the scripture says “and enticed”. The truth is, it is so hard to tempt a man with what he hate but it’s quite easy to tempt any man with what he loves. When own our lust lies in the heart, we can be easily be enticed and then we give in to sin. So we see in the next verse how lust takes place majorly in the heart.

James  1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

This scripture says lust has the ability to conceive, it means once we are drawn away by our own lust and enticed, the temptation keeps still in the mind for long, it has the ability to hold lost. And conceive means to be pregnant of something and then pregnancy needs a nurturing, thereby it holds lust for some time and then after that time it will give birth to sin. That’s why we need to run away from things that do easily beset us or entice us by causing us to last producing sin.

Hebrews  12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, LET US LAY ASIDE EVERY WEIGHT, and THE SIN WHICH DOTH SO EASILY BESET US, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

What easily beset us is our lust, it has the ability to draw us away and be enticed till the are able to conceive it and then after a time give birth to sin. The scripture went further to say when sin finished its own stage, then it gives birth death. So when the devil came to Eve, he draw her with her own lust and then she conceived the lust and she saw no reason to keep to the law of God and then she ate of the tree, which then produces sin, then death set in, which is a separation from God. We understand that the sting of sin is death.

1 Corinthians  15:56 THE STING OF DEATH IS SIN…

We understand now that sin does not just start in a day but it start when we are drawn by our own lust, and then a conception occur whereby we didn’t prayerfully note them and pray that they be removed from our hearts but we kept them still till the day we draw them out and allow it give birth. But the process can be aborted by receiving the Lord. You know what this conceive means, it’s like when you allow a seed of lust in your heart and then it has developed by growing till it is ready one day to give birth to sin. We need to know our lusts. You remember this was said also in prayers that, we ask and receive not because the essence of asking is to receive, so that it can be consumed on our own lusts.

James  4:3  Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

What is your own lust? Deal with it under God’s grace and mercy.
