“God is faithful to hear our cry in faith to Him, but at least we must call to Him”
There are two parts to prayer which is important for us to know on the note of prayer. Prayer is never fulfilled until these two phases are involved and this does not prove the point that people say that heaven help those who help themselves, that’s so unscriptural. This is because there are times when the Lord says before you call I’ll answer. So this study is not all to prayer is one of those vital truth to prayers.
Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
So what are these two phases to prayer which are
“Both God and the praying person have parts to play” -Charles Spurgeon
- Our part
- God’s part
Our part is to call Him and His part is to answer. Until a phone rings there will be no picking of calls. And with God there is assurance of no missed calls, available to pick it. God is not unfaithful not to hear to our call. He will definitely answer it. So we see that the word of God says
John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
The key to asking is to ask with His name. There is huge blessing in asking in the name of Jesus and then we see Him do what we requested of Him.
“Our receiving stands on the stand of our asking”
God’s respond lies on our asking because until we ask we may not receive because everyone that ask receives
Matthew 7:8 FOR EVERY ONE THAT ASKETH RECEIVETH; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
So we understand that when we ask Him, we will receive because we ask in His name.
“We need to learn the I WILL of God and come into it. God is more willing to bless us than we are more willing to ask Him.
Our part is to call Him and His part is to answer us when we call and He will deliver us.
Psalms 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
“When we know that God is willing to answer us, we will become more willing to call Him”
We must understand that God is on our side and we must see from His side by calling on Him in prayers. When we understand that he hears us we will know that He will receive our petition that we ask of Him.
1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
God hears prayers, we pray prayers!
