“The power made available in the place of prayers is greater than the man that prayed”
In a while we have understood the concept of prayer and we mostly pray everyday and as much as we pray we need to check it when we are not receiving in prayers. If for example you have found the title deed of your request in prayer through God’s Word and with full assurance that the ownership of that thing is yours but it has not yet being given to you. The thing we need to ask is why? Since we know that God’s word does not fail and God watch His word to perform it.
“In prayers, it is never a one sided thing, whereby you just make your request with nothing to do in it. There is a God part which we know can not fail and there is your part. God will be faithful with His part and so must you, in order to fulfill the agreement in prayers with God and to receive of Him”
Let’s see the first one
- Being double minded
James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
One of the things double mindedness does to us, is to make us stagnant, whereby God does not know what exactly you want. Actually double mindedness is the true reflection of doubt and not of faith because there is nothing you will absolutely ask from God that will not require your faith. Once faith is lost then the hope to receive is lost. To regain faith back then we have to walk on how faith comes. We must give attention to hearing because that’s how faith can come. Faith comes by hearing.
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
This can be paraphrased this way
“Now faith is developed and built by hearing, and the hearing is done by giving attention to the word of the Lord”
Develop your faith life by hearing from God’s word because doubt too comes from hearing and what you see. Remember that what you hear develops faith in you and faith is built in God’s word.
In the next series we shall look at how our words in prayers, what we say and what we meditate in our heart can affect our receiving in prayers.
