We looked at WHO AGAINST HOPE BELIEVED IN HOPE in the last series we shall continue by looking at how

  • He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief

“To stagger in faith is to walk in unbelief”

Romans 4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

When we have lived beyond sight to walk in faith by considering no longer what we see then we we move a stage whereby we stagger not. Pastor Poju Oyemade said something in this line that “you pray to a point and receive a note of victory whereby you doubt not”. What causes men to mostly stagger is because men are still considering what they see. When what we see is greater than what we believe then there lies a problem but we must always consider that God is faithful and true to His word. To stagger is to waver like the wave of the sea, such that we have no place to stand in faith because of the wind that blow but know that no man by this will receive anything from God. So Abraham understood this then, he staggered not at the word of the Lord. He had fashion hope within him enough to believe even God.

  • But was strong in faith, giving glory to God.

“For us to be able to give glory to God there must first be a strong faith in us”

Romans  4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

A man that stagger not at the word of the Lord even in a seemingly high challenge that face him against the word of the Lord is a man that is strong in faith. For such is able to stand against all odds that comes against God’s word, what his heart will begin to do is to give glory to God. Now we are at the bank of what brings about this topic. How do we give glory to God through faith? This we will consider in our next series.
