“We may never truly be able to comfort others except we have received such comfort from the Lord before”
The word comfort is one important thing that we should always seek after, even in giving prophecies in the body of Christ. Therefore, we must have walked in the measure at which the Lord has comforted us before and that will give us a good ground to be able to comfort others. But we must first understand that God is the God of all comfort in any area that we might need comfort
2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the GOD OF ALL COMFORT;
God knows the right way to comfort us even by bringing men who have received the comfort of God. We will be a successful and graceful minister and a people of God when we can comfort other by the comfort we received of God. So we see Paul saying this that God comforted them in all tribulation
“The reason we receive the comfort of God is so that we can be able to comfort others and such comfort of God is able to comfort people in any trouble”
2 Corinthians 1:4 WHO COMFORTETH US in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in ANY TROUBLE, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
We must readily comfort others by the comfort we receive also of the Lord. The secret to the comfort we receive of God is that it is able to comfort people in any trouble. We will understand mercy rather than judgment when we receive the comfort of God. Though judgement is needed in some cases to help the people walk rightly and comfort is needed to make people know that God is with them so that they can further the course of God upon the earth.
“People who have received the comfort of the Lord will know how to comfort others”
So we must be a people who have received the comfort of the Lord so that we will be able to comfort others by that same comfort we received of God. One major reason you’ll be able to comfort others is that you will deal with people with the way the Lord has dealt with you. That’s why you will understand that we do not have an high priest which can not be touched with the feeling of our infirmities
Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
The comfort here is that he was tempted as we are and He knows how to comfort us in our temptation so that we will be without sin. That’s what comfort does, it removes you from that state you are in to a state where you ought to be in God.
