”What God gives are His things and not the things of men”

There are things that the Lord gives and they all tend to life but there are things that are gotten through dubious means, yet they stand to be compared to what the Lord gives but the prove of the things that God gives and what man gets through carnal means is the test of time. What God gives has the ability to endure times, in fact there are things the Lord said to give us that can not perish

1 Peter 1:4 And we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. (New Living translation)

The word of God is clear on what the Lord gives, they are pure and they do not undergo decay by reason of time. No!  In the light of this we will see that which the Lord gives and the purpose of it.

We shall see them through the this scripture as the Lord will help us.

Isaiah  45:3  And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

  • Treasures of darkness

“It takes light to approach darkness and to see things in the darkness”

We need to first see that actually it is the Lord that said He will give us and not man and we understand that it is better to trust God’s word than man

Psalms  118:8  It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

So what the Lord promise to give is the treasures of darkness, the truth is, He is the Only One  that knows what they are,  even the ruler of the darkness the devil does not know them because God can not give us what the devil own but the Lord said He will give us treasures in darkness. I see it like a dark room that has treasures and then the Lord is the One giving us those treasures and we understand that we can receive nothing except it come from above

John  3:27  John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

And we also understand that to receive anything it must come from above and whatever comes from above are the good and perfect gift

James  1:17  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

  • Hidden riches in secret places

“Hidden things remains hidden except the Spirit of God reveals them and it becomes ours when it is revealed”

The Bible makes it clear that the secret things belongs to God but whatever is revealed belong to us and to our children

Deuteronomy  29:29  The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Then it’s clear that what the Lord want to give us are inheritances because it will also span to our children, so this tells that fathers alone can give inheritance and God is our Father

Proverbs  19:14  House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.

And so since they are hidden riches it means eyes have not seen it and hands handled it

1 Corinthians  2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

So since it is hidden riches and it is secret then it is prepared for us because He said these are the things He will give and by the help of His Sprit they will be given to us and be made known to us by His Spirit because these things are deep things of God

1 Corinthians  2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

And don’t forget that whatever is revealed to us belongs to us and our children so this tells that they are kept for us even the riches in Christ Jesus. They belong to us, God said I will give it to you.

  • The purpose is to know Him

“Whatever God gives lies on the purpose to reveal the Giver which is God”

God is a God of purpose because everything He made and gives stand on the ground of purpose. So it’s clear from the word of God that the reason He is giving those things to us is so that ee might know Him. You remember the prayer of Solomon about wealth so that he won’t say where is the Lord?

Proverbs  30:8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:

30:9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

And what God said about prosperity that so we wouldn’t forget Him. It’s possible to prosper and forget God

Deuteronomy  8:10 When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.

8:11 Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:

So the essence of giving these things is to make us know Him, we must not lose the purpose of these things and then embrace the gift, else we err. We must also not bring low those riches the Lord promise to give us to just be physical things, we must learn to receive all that God has in mind to the fullest, spiritually, physically, financially, maritally, mentally, socially, in all sphere as God will have them in heart. Receive only that which the Lord gives because of the purpose of it-to reveal God. Be blessed!
