“The power made available in the place of prayers is greater than the man that prayed”

  • Consistency in the place of prayers

Prayer is more than just a mere ritual, it is a deep fellowship that brings us to God daily”

His prayer life is challenging and we need to learn from it, of the things that made me to take to praying in tongues always is; when Paul was saying that he speak in tongues more than everyone else in the Corinthian church, the church that had the number of gifts.

1 Corinthians  14:18  I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

I love that, I remember someone ministering this scripture and he said it means Paul was speaking in tongues almost everywhere and anywhere. I love what Pastor Segun Obadje said about the ratio of praying in understanding to praying in tongues as seen by God’s word that it should be 1:2,000 that is,  5 words with understanding and then 10,000 words in an unknown tongues (5:10,000 which becomes 1:2,000) let’s see it in the Bible

1 Corinthians  14:19  Yet in the church I had rather speak FIVE WORDS WITH MY UNDERSTANDING, that by my voice I might teach others also, THAN TEN THOUSAND WORDS IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE.

Understand that it says in church, so it means to personal prayer life I may speak in tongues more than I speak in words because he that speak in an unknown tongues build up himself

1 Corinthians  14:4  HE THAT SPEAKETH IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE EDIFIETH HIMSELF; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

The word edify means to build up and we understand that the way to build up ourselves is to stick to praying in the Holy Ghost

Jude  1:20 But ye, beloved, BUILDING UP yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

Paul was used to praying in tongues more than everyone else by building up himself. When we give ourselves to praying in tongues we will surely be build and we understand that our mouth is a well of life.

Now to end this line, one thing God used to hold me or draw my attention the more to intercession is the word that Paul always say to churches or people of God that “making mention of you always in my prayers” so much that this word got my heart that even till today when I see this line of scripture it will begin to make mention of people in my prayers. Let’s see them…

Ephesians  1:16  CEASE NOT to give thanks for you, MAKING MENTION OF YOU IN MY PRAYERS;

Philippians  1:3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

1:4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
Colossians  1:3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

1 Thessalonians  1:2  We give thanks to God ALWAYS for you all, MAKING MENTION OF YOU IN OUR PRAYERS;

Romans  1:9  For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that WITHOUT CEASING I MAKE MENTION OF YOU ALWAYS IN MY PRAYERS;

Philemon  1:4  I thank my God, MAKING MENTION OF THEE ALWAYS IN MY PRAYERS,

Our interceding lives should not be shut to our own personal life. A man that truly pray immensely is a man that has first seen prayer as a fellowship with God and also as a means to stand in gap for people. When we learn to watch over people on our knees I believe God will set people also to watch over us, even if nobody does one thing is sure that Jesus is praying for us at the right hand of the Father. Our lives should be giving intentionally to praying for people always… Making mention of you always in my prayers…
