“The best identity you can ever have is when you see your identity from the word of God”

In the last series we looked at LEARNING OF CHRIST, we talked about the things that Jesus said we should learn of Him, for He is the best Person we can learn this from. We will continue as we end this series on the topic

  • YOU ARE CHRIST’S

You need to agree with what the word of God has called you to be and live it. You must learn to renew your mind to what the word of God calls you. You need to know that the scriptures said you are Christ’s…

1 Corinthians  3:23  And YE ARE CHRIST’S; and Christ is God’s.

Scriptures declare that you’re Christ’s, so you’re Christ’s. I believe this is a strong identity with Christ our Lord and you need to see yourself in this light. Having another picture from this is to have another image of yourself that is not you outside of Christ and whatever image you project in your mind will dictate how you will walk as a child of God.

Again the Bible tells you more about who you are which you must learn to see yourself as, the seed of Abraham.

Galatians  3:29  AND IF YE BE CHRIST’S, THEN ARE YE ABRAHAM’S SEED, and heirs according to the promise.

This we understand by the scripture that our identity in Christ is related to being the seed of Abraham and we are heirs according to the promise.

We understand also that as Christ’s we have crucified the flesh with it affection.

Galatians  5:24  AND THEY THAT ARE CHRIST’S HAVE CRUCIFIED THE FLESH with the affections and lusts.

This is because He quickened us from sin

Ephesians  2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

We also see that when we are old and our eyes are closed in death when the Lord shall come back we that are Christ’s will be the one to first hear His voice

1 Corinthians  15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward THEY THAT ARE CHRIST’S AT HIS COMING.

Now that you know that you’re Christ’s, it is not enough to know that alone, you do well by walking as Christ did walk. When you don’t live in who you are, you walk in what you’re not. The walking part of it makes the ability of who you are to be complete else an aborted nature or incomplete nature.

1 John  2:6  He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, EVEN AS HE WALKED.

  • How did He walk?

He walked in obedience to the will of the Father and the will of the Father is His Word.

John  4:32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.

4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

We see again where He said He has finished the will of the Father, meaning He obeyed the totality of the Father’s word.

John  17:4 I HAVE GLORIFIED thee on the earth: I HAVE FINISHED the work which thou gavest me to do.

17:6 I HAVE MANIFESTED  THY NAME  UNTO THE MEN WHICH THOU GAVEST ME out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

17:8 For I HAVE GIVEN unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

We see that Jesus lived to obey the Father’s will. So must we live in obedience to the Father’s will in agreement to His word because how Jesus walked was to obey the Father’s word.

Lastly, let’s see

  • LIVING FOR CHRIST

We see Paul said for him,  to live is Christ and to us this should be the same, setting our minds to live for Christ as teenagers because we are not of this world even though we are in this world. We express the life of Christ in all we do!

Philippians  1:21  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

He said it’s gain to him if he dies because he will see the Lord again but as long as he is on earth, he lives for Christ. As teenagers I encourage you to live for Christ, speak to your classmates about Jesus and walk also like Jesus walked. God bless you. Watch out for another series that will start very soon… We love you! Keep walking as Christ’s on the earth.
