Real faith thrives on a test. – F. F. Bosworth

Having heard many things on faith, I feel a part is important for us to add to our faith. No wonder Peter said to “add to your faith…” 2Peter 1:5. This tells that there are things to be added to our faith. Even Paul said “we have need of patience after doing the will of God” Hebrews 10:36.

Abraham was a man of faith that stood him ground on the unwavering word of God. We must understand that faith must have something to stand on and it must be well positioned on the word of God. Quickly, I like to look at

1. OUR CONFIDENCE IN GOD AND HIS WORD: To engage faith we need to have confidence in God and this can be built by the word of God. The hearing of God’s word builds confidence in us. That’s why

Hebrews 10:35 “CAST NOT AWAY THEREFORE YOUR CONFIDENCE, which hath great recompense of reward.

Confidence is God is what will keep us at every promise of God. Like Abraham, he was fully persuaded that God will keep to His Word so he stayed at that promise and gain confidence in God. Scriptures called it being fully persuaded.

2. STEDFASTNESS OF FAITH TO THE END: The word “stedfast” have two words “stead and fast”. We need to become stead and fast in our faith and confidence in the Lord.

This will help us hold on to the end until we see the promises of God being actualized in our lives. Remember our confidence in the Word of God has a great recompense of reward (Hebrews 10:35).

We must therefore hold the beginning of our confidence in God. You know is easy when you first have strong confidence in God but maybe as things goes your confidence was going down. That’s why scriptures said go hold that beginning of our confidence stedfast to the end.

Hebrews 3:14 “For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end”

Our faith will work when we’re confident in God and then we hold on to the beginning of our confidence in the Word of God.
