I was long taken in my sins,

Thinking if I will ever be free,

I was habitually in sin,

Turning my heart against God,

I ran from what could save me,

Never want to hear the name that will save me,

I pushed it all out with my strength,

Yet I was helpless,

But truly something must be done to this!

To this war in my body for am a slave,

This got to be over between me and sin,

Even prayer seems powerless,

But I see that You’ve quickened me by mercy,

In Your body was I made to die,

I have found a communion that keeps,

That keeps me away from sin,

The consistent communion and abiding in You!
