“The power made available in the place of prayers is greater than the man that prayed”

The name Epaphras means “lovely” and many times when I opened to the place where he was mentioned of in prayers, it pushes me the more to pray for folks. I remember very clearly one of the things that brought me to pay close attention the more to intercession is the word the Lord keep bringing to my heart in school then which is “always making mention of you in my prayers” this words never leave me, it became a life so much that I always put this to practice. I believe leadership is service and not a play and as leaders we must learn to pray for people. Let me say this quickly, find scriptures that pushes you to prayer so much that no matter how weak you are, it MUST always push you to pray. So those words keep coming to my heart so much even till today, when I open the Epistle and found where it was said in that phrase, I just begin to pray.

The life of Epaphras is something that has hold my life, there has never been any time I opened to this scripture that I never intercede for people. This I see that, Paul would have noticed him to the point that he had to include it in his letters to the Colossians and now the question is, what kind of prayers do you pray for your people? We see very clearly that Epaphras got into deep prayers for his people where he laboured fervently in prayers for them

Colossians  4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

See the prayers

  1. To stand perfect
  2. And be complete in ALL the will of God

So we see that this man mean business. To stand perfect and complete in all the will of God not just some but all of it. I love the word “labour” it makes you concentrate and pay deep attention to the prayers until something is birthed, no wonder Paul said about the Galatians

Galatians  4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

Travail and labour are close words, such that a birthing have to occur. So Epaphras wanted them to be complete and perfect in all the will of God for that’s what he desire that his prayers will produce and also Paul is travailing until Christ be found in them. You see, unless we get involved in these two aspect of prayers whereby we labour and travail fervently for God’s people nothing will be birthed. For us to actually see the move of God a prayer with much labour and travail as to go forth. For by this a release is launched into people’s lives and our lives.
