You cannot successfully restore one in error nor correct him if you are offended and you hold a grudge in your heart against him because of those “errors.” Many are so offended at others because of what they “see” and “perceive” to be wrong that their offence is now a bigger issue than what they perceive.
When Jesus said to remove the log in your eye so you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s, He was referring to the offence in your heart as a result of what you perceived. Your offence in your heart now blinds you and it is a much bigger issue than the error you say your brother has. It’s only when you walk in love towards another can you see clearly and know how to truly help.
1 John 2:9-11 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
