“The power made available in the place of prayers is greater than the man that prayed”

  • Taking to prayers beyond the laws and finding deep confidence in the place of prayers

Daniel has always being my man from my teen age, I love his life and how he was used by the Lord, the chapter I love most in the book of Daniel is chapter six where his colleagues teamed up against him, and they found nothing against him than his prayer life.

Daniel  6:5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.

Even when they said no prayer must be made to any god in the next thirty days which a month, and anyone seen in that act will be punished. For which they all agreed and made the king to sign the decree and it is never possible to reverse the law, but if the king had known, he might not have signed it because of Daniel, we saw the love he show towards Daniel after the whole thing. Now I see that thirty days to be challenging in the sense that, some men may go for a month and not call upon the Lord or even raise a prayer to God but this Daniel’s case was not so. His colleagues even shifted it that, for this Daniel it is not possible for him not to call upon his God at least within the stipulatiled time. If you ask me I’ll say, it was not even up to a day that Daniel took to his conduct to prayer. He was not afraid of that decree, such that he will become fearful or even take to silent prayer by saying “blessed is the servant who applied wisdom”. Daniel  knew that decree has been signed that no one should call upon any God, which he also know the consequences of going against what what was said, yet he was not afraid having in his heart that deep fellowship of prayer but we found him taking to his prayers on his knees while he opened his window towards Jerusalem and then begin to pray like he always do three times a day.

Daniel  6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

The thing we need to pick about his prayer life is that irrespective of what has happened or the law, he never lack confidence to pray or to shift his ground according to the law of the land. This was also the conduct of his friends who were ready to die than to bow to the gods of the land, their confidence in God in striking and the prayer life of Daniel is beyond just mere ritual of prayers but it has become a deep fellowship whereby he says “how can that be possible that I’ll not speak to God or keep to my prayer life” this we must learn, because it may not even be decrees that is taking us away from prayers but challenges of life, rather than running away from prayers those are times to find strength in the Lord and push to prayer than obey what we see or what we hear. We must see that the council of the Godhead is more important to us than the words of men. When prayer becomes a place of strength and a place of fellowship, no matter what comes nothing will shift our knees away from prayers.
